From exploring the structures of macronutrients—carbohydrates, lipids, and proteins—to discovering the vital roles of micronutrients like vitamins and minerals, the students embarked on an incredible journey through the human body.

They tracked exactly how each macronutrient is broken down and digested, following its path through the digestive system. Afterward, the kids took their knowledge a step further, learning how the body transforms these dietary building blocks into cellular fuel—ultimately creating ATP, the universal energy currency of life.

In short, this lesson gave the kids a complete picture of how food keeps us alive. By connecting the chemistry of what we eat to digestion and cellular energy, they learned exactly how the human body works as an amazing engine. Understanding this process does more than just teach them about nutrition—it sparks a lifelong curiosity about science and how their own bodies work.
