Our Curriculum

Designed for high interaction, our classes encourage every student to speak and actively participate. Rather than relying on passive lectures or traditional grading, our priority is twofold: to instill a robust foundational framework for future learning, and to cultivate the critical thinking, leadership, and intellectual confidence students need to thrive.

As our MSK members enter high school, we hope to see them leverage their foundational knowledge to pursue meaningful projects that fuel their passions and actively serve and enrich in their communities.

Welcome to the foundational launchpad of the Medical Science Kids curriculum! Gastrointestinal I is the mandatory first step for all incoming students, designed to transform curious minds into young medical STEM students. This highly interactive, signature class dives deep into the fascinating world of the GI tract, framing the human digestive system as an advanced biological assembly line.

GastroIntestinal System

This curriculum explores how our body operates as a high-efficiency refinery. Students will learn that food isn't just fuel—it is a complex collection of molecular structures. The course traces how the mechanical and chemical processing plants of the GI tract break down Carbohydrates, Proteins, and Lipids into their smallest microscopic building blocks so they can cross into the bloodstream and power life.

Nutrition - Carbohydrates, Lipids, Proteins

This course explores the incredible engineering of the human circulatory system. Students will look past the simple idea of the heart as just a muscle and instead analyze it as a synchronized, four-chambered dual pump. They will map how blood changes pressure and oxygen composition as it travels through a high-velocity highway of specialized vessels.

Cardiovascular System

The Physics of the Pump (Hypertension): We use simple fluid dynamics to show how the heart and blood vessels manage pressure. Students will learn how lifestyle, stress, and salt alter the "pipes" of the circulatory system.
The Chemistry of Fuel (Diabetes): We break down how the body turns a slice of pizza into cellular energy. Students will discover the mechanism of insulin and what happens when insulin stop working.

Clinical Deep Dive: Diabetes and Hypertension

This course bridges foundational physical chemistry with clinical pharmacology. Students will discover that the human body is a continuous chemical reactor, exploring how scientists design molecules to target specific receptors, how pH balances protect our organs, and how chemical bonds dictate how long a life-saving medication lasts inside the body.

Medical Chemistry

Have you ever realized that you are carrying around a high-tech physics lab right inside your own skin? Your arms are cranes, your jaws are nutcrackers, your eyes are movie projectors, and your ears are microscopic drum sets. In this course, we will explore internal physics—how the human body uses the laws of nature to move, see, hear, and survive.

Medical Physics

This course bridges computer science with clinical medicine. Students will explore how algorithms process vast medical data sets, learn the fundamentals of diagnostic pattern recognition, and discuss the ethical responsibilities of designing technologies that impact human lives.
